MADE BY MIKE / DIRECTION 03 / ONE WORKSHOP

A world of
possibilities.

One imagined workshop, filmed as a continuous visual world. Longer travel along the timber, cuts between work areas, and reference-led recreations of Michael's products. These are review-resolution scenes, with desktop and portrait camera paths.

Reference for the next material pass: more figured grain, with the recessed light clearly visible. The current journey uses the supplied oak material and is awaiting visual approval.

01 / The material

The camera tracks along most of the pendant before revealing its underside. The opening words clear away to give the timber an uninterrupted moment. The supplied oak remains a material study.

02 / The light

The pendant belongs to one imagined workshop. The camera settles above the central making bench; matched Day and Evening renders preserve the atmosphere interaction.

03 / The unexpected

A camera cut takes us to the neighbouring chess bench, then closer to the pieces. The live-edge slab, branch forms and contrasting cut ends are recreated from the reference; dimensions and carving are approximations for review.

04 / The details

Another cut brings the camera to the frame bench. The original protea and elephant illustrations are mapped onto recreated timber frames, preserving their character under the shared lighting.

05 / The maker

The final wide shot reveals how the making bench, chess table, illustrated frames and corner shelves belong to the same imagined space. The collection now uses rendered product views throughout.

R04 / A MORE CONSIDERED WORKSHOP

The difference is in the making.

A proper trestle bench, detailed tools, mineral plaster and a framed window bring the shared workshop into focus. Michael’s pendant, chess and illustrated frames remain the centre of the story.

Follow the grain.

The camera follows the grain, reveals the workshop and cuts between its work areas. All chapters use the same scene and lighting, and every movement reverses when you scroll backwards.
